What does “discharged” mean? In OTIS, discharge means MDOC jurisdiction for that sentence has ended. It is not the same event as an earlier parole from prison.

A release record is historical. It remains accurate for that dated transaction even if the person is later arrested or enters a different custody system. State and federal status should always be dated and named.

A missing result may reflect a county-jail-only case, an old discharge, a different commitment name, or nonpublic material. It is not proof that no state record ever existed.
